Situated conveniently on Richmond Highway in Alexandria, Viet House Restaurant Ltd offers an authentic Vietnamese dining experience that stands out in the bustling local food scene. Specializing in classic Vietnamese cuisine, this cozy eatery invites you to indulge in a variety of dishes that perfectly balance vibrant flavors with comforting familiarity.
The hallmark of Viet House is undoubtedly its pho, crafted with care and bursting with depth. Popular selections like the Chicken Pho Dark Meat and the richly savory Beef Pho showcase a broth simmered for hours, resulting in a fragrant, layered taste that has earned high praise from patrons. Katie Durniak's enthusiastic endorsement of the No. 7 pho – featuring brisket, flank, and skirt flank – captures the essence of their signature offerings, where tender cuts of meat meet a perfectly balanced, aromatic broth. Whether you prefer the delicate white meat or the richer dark meat chicken variations, each bowl invites you into a warm, soul-satisfying culinary journey.
Beyond pho, Viet House’s menu boasts a delightful array of Vietnamese staples. Dishes like Bun Cha Gio Thit Nuong and the Grill Chicken with Rice deliver robust flavors with just the right amount of char and seasoning. For those seeking fresh and crisp textures, the Perfect, Crispy Spring Rolls are a must-try, paired beautifully with their deliciously nutty peanut dipping sauce, highly recommended by diners who wished they’d ordered more. The delicate summer rolls provide a lighter contrast, though reviews have noted the peanut sauce there truly elevates the experience.
Viet House also satisfies beverage aficionados with its authentic Vietnamese Coffee and creamy Thai Tea, both perfect companions to spicy, aromatic dishes. The black drip coffee, served either hot or iced, invites a rich and slightly sweet indulgence that lingers pleasantly after each sip.
The restaurant’s interior complements the menu with a bright and welcoming atmosphere. Floor-to-ceiling windows flood the space with natural light, creating an open, airy feel that enhances every meal. The staff greet guests with genuine warmth, making first-time visitors feel immediately at home, while the pace of customers coming and going hints that Viet House has quickly become a local favorite. While indoor dining is the norm and parking is shared, the convivial setting and friendly service ensure a relaxed experience from start to finish.
Despite a few varied opinions on broth intensity, the overwhelming consensus celebrates Viet House for its generous portions, flavorful dishes, and consistency. Whether you’re new to Vietnamese cuisine or a seasoned pho enthusiast, the restaurant’s menu offers something satisfying for every palate—from savory Bun Thit Nuong bowls to comforting vegetarian pho options.
For anyone seeking a genuine taste of Vietnam in Alexandria, Viet House Restaurant Ltd promises a feast of bold tastes, fresh ingredients, and a welcoming vibe that keeps diners coming back for more.
This was some of the best pho i’ve had. The broth was very flavorful and I like being able to customize & add how much toppings i want in it. I got the number 7 which was brisket, flank and skirt flank which was delicious. The spring rolls were so good I wish we ordered more than one. The summer rolls were okay, the peanut sauce was delicious though. We almost didn’t go because we saw that people said the pho broth wasn’t flavorful but that is far from the truth and I’m assuming that it was people that eat pho with a fork…
Glad to find a nearby good Vietnamese Restaurant where we don’t have to drive to Eden Center. This place has a shared parking space and can only do indoor dining. As soon as we entered the place we are greeted with a smile which is really nice. During our meal customers were in and out of this place. The restaurant is poured with natural lights because of their almost ceiling to floor windows. And the place is really neat. The food was really good. It has a tasty broth for the pho. The vermicelli noodles is tasty and full of ingredients for how much it worth. You really get every dime you pay. The fresh rolls and its dip were also really good. The balance of savory and freshness. Overall this place is one of our good finds and will truly go back again to try other menu.
We had a great meal here. Some reviews said the pho broth wasn’t flavorful but I completely disagree; it was some of the best pho I’ve ever had. Huge portions, reasonable price, and delicious food. Two of us got #7 which was brisket, flank, and skirt flank, and one of us got the shrimp pho. Both options were delicious. We also got spring rolls which we enjoyed and the summer rolls which we all agreed we wouldn’t order again but was just personal preference. Overall a great experience, will be coming back and getting pho from here again.
another Vietnamese. another phở đặc biệt. another cà phê sửa đá. this time w chè ba màu. honestly, I don't remember much besides the chè ba màu used bánh lọt to substitute instead pandan jelly. interesting. wasn't mad @ it. phở was decent, and so was the coffee. nothing stood out because or else I would've remembered. cleaned, spacious establishment. friendly, helpful staff. I may try other dishes here...just my usuals doesn't stand out to me.
It was my first time here, and I tried a bowl of Vietnamese noodle, No. 2. The meats were tender and yummy, but the broth was not tasty. Customer service was okay. The gentleman who took my order was nice and friendly. But he assumed I was a Vietnamese. When I walked into the restaurant, he spoke Vietnamese to me lol . And he assumed that I could read Vietnamese language in the menu . The busgirl was not friendly. It seemed she did not want to work over the weekend. The interior was nice and clean. I hope they had more pictures of Vietnamese scenes, people, etc.
